In reflection over the first four months of the school year, we have been so pleased with the progress these second grade students have made! There has been so much growth in them, both academically and social/emotionally.

- Words Their Way: Short U words (CVC pattern) and Long U words (CVCe and CVVC (ui and oo) patterns and Words which do not follow the rules)
- Lexia (*Though students do login into and practice Lexia each week in class, we recommend that students practice 60 -80 minutes a week. Please ask your second grader to do Lexia practice at home at least twice a week.)

Students should read the next story, Jack and the Beanstalk in preparation for Mr.s Peiken's next literature discussion class. Students are encouraged to share their ideas, ask questions, and make connections.
